Pastoral Care

Throughout their time with us, Sixth Form girls benefit from exceptional levels of support, advice and pastoral care.

This helps ensure they are happy and confident with their studies, fully understand the University application process and the career opportunities available, and receive all the support and guidance they need.

On joining the Sixth Form, each girl is assigned to a Tutor Group of no more than 16 students, led by a personal tutor. The tutor is responsible for overseeing both her academic and pastoral development.

Each girl is encouraged to aim realistically high in planning the next stage of her development and experience after Sixth Form. Whether she is moving on to Higher Education, employment, a gap year or vocational training, we aim to provide tailored counselling and guidance.

Croydon High sixth form provides an outstanding learning environment, combined with invaluable networking opportunities and careers advice both in school and through the GDST Alumnae Network.

Throughout, the girls are totally supported as they prepare for exams, make choices, prepare personal statements and make applications to university or employment that have real depth and which present them in their very best light. The personal knowledge the staff have of each and every one of them not only enhances this process, but gives the girls security and the confidence to aspire to great things.

We believe in them…and so they believe in themselves.

The whole Sixth Form team are hugely experienced in getting girls through what can be a very demanding time. In amongst all the hard work, there are plenty of opportunities for the girls to have fun and to develop the leadership and social skills that will stand them in such good stead when they leave.

The sixth form staff do all they can, right up to results day, to help the girls get to where they really want to GO.
