Pastoral Care

Croydon High School has an excellent reputation for providing outstanding pastoral care; in fact the welfare of each girl is paramount to everything we do.

Keeping our mission statement in mind - 'a leading school where individuals flourish' - we aim be a forward-looking community where all the girls achieve their personal best. Girls are nurtured within a safe, happy and supportive environment and encouraged to grasp opportunities at every stage. Girls learn respect for themselves and others and accept their responsibilities as global citizens.

We know that happy, relaxed children and young people are most likely to gain the maximum benefit from their school years and, therefore, most likely to succeed. Every girl’s welfare is of the utmost importance and our teachers are always willing to discuss any aspect of school life with parents.

The girls also feel comfortable and confident enough to ask for support whenever they need it. The bench outside the staff room is a prominent part of Croydon High life – often remembered and remarked upon fondly by our alumnae. At every break and lunchtime, there will be girls ‘on the bench’ talking to teachers about anything they need help with and benefiting from the individual care and attention we believe they deserve.

With a well-established pastoral care system in place, designed to ensure girls are happy, fulfilled and enjoy excellent relationships with the teaching staff, girls are supported and cared for throughout their time with us.

Croydon High girls are encouraged to develop into confident, well-balanced, intellectually curious young women ready to face the challenges ahead.
